About Goth Shop MTL & How We Work

Goth Shop MTL is a curated alternative retail space dedicated to showcasing independent artists, designers, and makers whose work exists outside mainstream aesthetics. The shop focuses on gothic, alternative, queer, witchy, strange, dark, and unconventional creative communities, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, authenticity, and storytelling.

Our mission is to create a safe and welcoming space where artists and customers can discover work that reflects identity, self-expression, and subculture. We prioritize supporting independent creators, small batch production, and ethically made goods whenever possible.

Our Retail Model

Goth Shop MTL operates primarily through a consignment partnership with artists and brands, with occasional wholesale collaborations depending on the product and brand structure.

All artists are carefully curated to maintain a cohesive yet diverse environment that reflects the spirit of the alternative communities we support.

Our standard commission structure is:

Consignement
• Artist receives: 65% of the retail price
• Shop receives: 35% commission

Payouts are processed on a scheduled monthly basis when sales reach a minimum of 100$. Payments are issued via your selected payment method once sales are finalized and processed. It is possible to receive your payout as store credit for 2%
more of the value owed. Our new systems allows you to track sales and current inventory in real time from our Vendors portal. 

Wholesale
Wholesale partnerships are occasionally available for select brands and operate at 50% of the retail price.Vendors still have access to the vendors portal to visualize inventory and prepare for restocks.

Inventory & Sales Systems

We use a professional retail inventory and point-of-sale system to track all items in store. Each product is properly labeled and
catalogued before being placed on the sales floor.

Artists are responsible for:

Providing clear product information
Ensuring items are properly identified with their inventory lists
Providing care instructions when necessary
Maintaining product quality and safety standards

We track sales in real time through our retail system and maintain internal inventory records. Artists may receive sales reports during payout periods.

Product Commitment & Restocking & Communications

We ask participating artists to:
Communicate restock timelines clearly - You can book your inventory drop through our Calendly. 
Notify us of any production delays or price changes.

Contracts & Agreements


All accepted vendors must sign a consignment or wholesale agreement outlining:
Commission terms
Payout structure
Inventory responsibilities
Product liability expectations
Partnership termination terms


Marketing & Promotion

By participating in Goth Shop MTL, artists agree that their products may be photographed or featured in:
Social media promotion
Website and online store
Events, markets, and store presentations
Visual merchandising and displays

Whenever possible, artists are credited and promoted alongside their work.

We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or hate speech within our partnerships or community spaces.

Selection Process

Due to limited retail space, submission through this form does not guarantee acceptance. Applications are reviewed based on:
Artistic quality and originality
Brand alignment with shop values
Product uniqueness and demand
Production reliability
Overall shop curation balance
